(Some of) What we did this week…
- Celebrated as we completed a long piece of work we’ve been gradually working towards for several months - transitioning our systems to reduce our technical monthly running costs. We’re going to be saving quite a bit of money from now on 😍🎉
- Continued meeting with some amazing humans in Birmingham, Leicester and Norwich to record Oral History Interviews, as part of our National Lottery Heritage Fund project 🎙️
- The wonderful team at YMCA Leicestershire held our first (optional) online trauma informed training session, sponsored by The National Lottery Heritage Fund. Our annual report is now live!
We’re extremely proud to present our newest annual report and accounts (2023-24), published here on our website. An immense amount of work from Andrew has gone into this (plus a bit here and there from the wider team), and we can’t wait for you to read it!

We’re looking for food industry experts…
We’re developing a brand-new surplus food toolkit, and would love to get some input from our leaders as we do so. In particular anyone with food expertise - e.g. chefs, food hygiene experts, food industry professionals. If this sounds like you, please get in touch!
Please note - we’re mindful that our leaders are all very busy people, so we’re flexible on the amount of time you volunteer to support with this. The more amazing minds involved, the better!
(Some of) What we’re doing next week…
- Continuing to support our leaders towards preparing for October meals, including collaborating with ReFuture Collective to run an arts and heritage meal in Leicester, and with Hear Me Out to run a music and heritage meal in Norwich 🍲🥁🎨
- Developing a safety refresher for our leaders 🦺
- Working on two new toolkits for the handbook (more to follow!) 🧰
