(Some of) What we did this week…

• Debriefed another successful meal in Belfast last Sunday 📝
• Completed remaining tasks in preparation for meals in December 🥗
• Furthered work on designing new ads to find leaders in new cities where we hope to launch, promoting the Local Welcome leader handbook (see more below!) 📢

Exciting news: We’re launching new groups in early 2025

After almost a year of testing and fine-tuning the leader handbook with all your incredible support, we’re now ready to share it with more amazing people across the UK who want to foster connections and welcome in their communities during a time of division.

We’re pleased to announce that these groups will be in (🥁 drumroll 🥁):

• Hull ⚓️
• Leeds 🎨
• Plymouth 🚢

If you have connections with any lovely humans living in these cities, who you think could be future leaders and members - or any organisations working there who might be interested in connecting with our future groups - please get in touch, and we’ll let you know as soon as these groups are ‘live’ on our website.

(Some of) What we’re doing next week…

• Supporting our groups in Birmingham, Cardiff, Derby, Liverpool and Norwich towards running their final meals of the year 🍲
• Designing a new page on our website to promote the Local Welcome Leader Handbook 🧑‍💻
• Meeting with YMCA Leicestershire to explore ways to integrate more trauma informed practises throughout Local Welcome 🩷

A lovely photo from a recent Cardiff meal. There’s a story behind the unfamiliar equipment on the table! The Cardiff leaders were unable to access the Local Welcome boxes stored in their venue but, determined for the meal to still go ahead, they thought on their feet and managed to use the venue’s equipment to pull off a meal! 😮😍
