(Some of) What we did this week…

Celia is going on annual leave 👰‍♀️

Celia is taking annual leave from tomorrow (Friday 11th) until Wednesday 23rd April for her final wedding preparations, and the big day itself!

As you might remember from the weeknotes we published in late March, Andrew is also currently on paternity leave. Local Welcome’s management team being away simultaneously is a first, but our wonderful and very supportive Board of Trustees are here for Hannah and Rhiannon should they need anything in Andrew and Celia’s absence. Also, it goes without saying, that Hannah and Rhiannon are both brilliant and have absolutely got this! 💪

Work will be moving at a different pace for the next couple of weeks, but we’ve been planning ahead for this ‘big-life-event-annual-leave-overlap’ for quite some time, so we’re all feeling very prepared! 🤞💜

Introducing: Our Trauma Informed Support Toolkit 🧠

Some of you will remember the trauma informed support training (led by YMCA Leicestershire) which we took part in last year. To follow up this training, we’ve worked with a member of their team who delivered the training, Hannah Deignan, to produce a new toolkit which is now published in the Leader Handbook:

Note: the link might say ‘no access’ but you will be able to open them if you’re logged into Notion on the device you’re using.

Reminder: Please submit your May and June meal dates 🗓️

If you haven’t already, please help us get your next meal set up and advertised as quickly as possible by checking in with your fellow leaders over the weekend, and confirming and submitting the date of your next meal via the meal booking form as soon as possible.

Our Derby group were the first to use our recently published our ‘How to turn your Local Welcome meal into a picnic’ toolkit and enjoyed a sunny end to their meal last weekend 😍
