The Refugee Employment Network has launched their new Unlocking Refugee Talent Training in partnership with UNHCR for employers, HR, Talent and hiring professionals, and we thought we’d spread the word! Please it on to anyone you know who might benefit from attending. Here’s some more details:
Employment is a key part of how people rebuild their lives and strengthen both economic and social inclusion. We all have a role to play in making it accessible and removing the barriers that still exist.
This practical training has been co-developed by the Refugee Employment Network, UNHCR and displaced professionals, and is delivered alongside facilitators with lived experience of forced displacement. This practical training supports with:
- Understanding refugee employment rights and protections
- Identifying and removing barriers in hiring
- Building inclusive recruitment and workplace practices
There are upcoming sessions on 5–7 May & 7–9 July. Find out more here: https://refugeeemploymentnetwork.org/our-support/employers/training-for-employers
We’re in need of some high resolution photos which help paint a picture of the magical moments and memories your groups craft and share during meals. We need these photos for our next annual report, to refresh some of the older photos on our website, and for our social media.
If any of you are (or know someone who is) a professional photographer, who’d be up for visiting a meal and taking some photos for our use on a pro-bono basis, we’d be so grateful!
Alternatively, if there’s someone you know who’d be comfortable lending a high quality camera to a member of your group who’s a skilled photographer, yet doesn’t have access to equipment currently, that would be, in many ways, even more wonderful! Or perhaps you have some connections with photography students, who are looking to expand their portfolio?
If anyone comes to mind, or if you have any ideas, we’d be delighted to hear from you via WhatsApp or [email protected] 💜
Q: What did you like most about the whole day? A: “Meet other people and having conversations” - Birmingham
