Hello all, I hope the sun is shining on you wherever you are ☀️ This week has been a shorter one due to the bank holiday. A couple members of the team have also been a bit under the weather! Therefore, this week’s weeknotes are a little briefer than usual.
Debriefed the meals in Norwich, Cardiff and Derby last Sunday 📝
Supported Liverpool and Birmingham in preparing for their first meals this Sunday 🎉
In recent weeks, we’ve noticed that partner refugee orgs have been (understandably) even more at capacity than usual in the wake of the Rwanda Bill. Therefore, we’ve been investing more time into promoting meals, researching new organisations to connect with, and monitoring signups from people seeking sanctuary and refugees.
A Derby leader shared this photo from their meal last Sunday with these moving words:
“Lovely day although we had a thoughtful moment. We included forget-me-nots in the flowers today in order to remember our friends who are in detention centres, the final photo was us taking a moment to think of them.” (see photo on the left)
As we’ve mentioned in recent weeknotes, please do keep speaking up on how the Rwanda Bill is impacting your group’s community!
Whether that’s to share how your group is supporting each other during these difficult times, or if you have any thoughts or feedback on what we can do to better support your group.
Together, we know we can still provide a place of welcome, solidarity and comfort 💜
Thank you for reading 💜
