What we’ve been focused on this week
- We’ve been continuing our work on designing a form and signup process for members, leaders and guests to sign up for Local Welcome meals, all in one place. Things are on track for it to be set up and ready to test out in time for Derby’s meal on Sunday 6 August.
- We’ve also been doing further preparation with John, the Oral Historian we mentioned in last week’s notes to prepare for his visit to Derby on Sunday 6 August.
- A few of members of the team are off on holiday in the coming weeks, so we’ve also been focusing wrapping up pieces of work, ready to ‘pass the baton’ on to each other smoothly. This is something that’s even more important when you work in a small, remote, team so we’ve put the time in to ensure we do it well!
What we’ve been celebrating this week
We’ve been awarded pro-bono work and advice from an amazing design agency for a whole year!
We’ll share more about said award in the coming weeks when things are ‘more official’. However, the headline is that we’ll be receiving graphic design, video, web design, branding and campaigns - skills that our budget can’t currently cater to have in our team, so this news has been very exciting indeed!
Plus, who doesn’t love to know that their little charity was selected out of hundreds of applications? 😍 (don’t worry, we’ll try to stay humble - it’s one of our values!)
What we’re focusing on next week
- Releasing and testing a new sign up ‘user journey’ in Derby
- Preparing for meals in Liverpool and Derby on Sunday 6
- Onboarding new members of the team (more to follow on this next week)
Thank you for reading, and happy weekend!
